Overview
NZR is a hospitality group founded in 2013 by renowned restaurateur Kurt Zdesar. As European Director of Nobu he established the brand worldwide between 1996 and 2004, before forming his own chain, Ping Pong, then opening his first Chotto Matte in 2013, delivering the best of Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine.


Brief
NZR needed a digital strategy to support the growth of its flagship brand, Chotto Matte, with locations in London and Miami soon to be joined by a pop-up in St Tropez and a permanent restaurant in Toronto. The challenge was to refresh the online presence for Chotto Matte and its sibling brands whilst raising awareness, promoting events and enhancing the booking experience.

Response
Each location would offer a different aesthetic and design approach, so a new website was created showcasing the beautiful food, cocktails, service and environments of the various international locations. Built with flexibility to add future franchises, the site incorporated a simplified booking service removing the need for third-party apps. We heavily invested in social media, simplifying Chotto's brand icon and collaborating with analysis specialists Fifty to shape messaging and utilise geotagging to pull in the right audience.
